I grew up in the equatorial tropics of Africa among the exotics of frangipani, bougainvillea, oleander, hibiscus and a wealth of other vibrant, scented plants. I worked in conservation and was a professional gardener for ten years.
In 1988 I trained in garden design at RHS Harlow Carr and Bishop Burton, gaining a distinction, and have worked on more than 300 projects since then. |

Projects have ranged from moorland gardens to urban courtyards, Moroccan designs to B&B guesthouse gardens, from pub gardens to school grounds, Millenium greens to a greek roof garden and a tropical paradise in Africa.
I helped renovate Helmsley Walled Garden and was on the first board of directors. There I initiated the volunteer group and designed and planted the Rainbow Border that runs through the centre of the garden. |

I enjoy the variety of my work and believe that the garden must not only reflect the unique tastes and needs of you the client, but also the 'loci genius' or spirit of the place. |
